I’m trying to understand the reasoning here. As an EV driver, to me the base criteria for a charger is:
1 - electric service, either basic 240V for slow chargers or quite high power for DC fast chargers;
2 - sufficient parking for the cars attached to chargers;
3 - something I want to do: be home, at a restaurant, hotel, work, or something entertaining.
Gas stations have #1, but no more so than shopping centers or any other commercial areas. Most, though not all, don’t have enough parking for many chargers - they are designed for quick trips. And for #3, nearly all fail here, unless already close to restaurants / shopping / hotels.
Yes, gas stations are easy to spot, but no more so that restaurants or grocery stores. It seems like it might even hurt business in many cases to have a dozen cars taking up space for 30-60 minutes, and people milling around waiting inside the store; they are setup for quick turnover.
Or am I misunderstanding your point?
